we're off to maine...

i finally just started to pack for maine. yes, it's 4:20 pm and we leave in the morning. i'm a bit of a procrastinator! jake has about 20 books he's wanting to bring on the train...we're gonna have

to narrow that down to 3 i'm afraid! because, who will be the one carrying them?? me.

i was hoping to get a few new things up in the shop but doesn't look like that's going to happen. i promise to have new goodies upon my return! i did make a treasury last night, though! you can see it by clicking here . i just love all these sweet birdies and want them all...aren't they great!? by the way, etsy treasuries are my new addicition!! i've made 2 others since i started selling and they both ended up on the front page. i almost passed out from excitement. i now think i'm some sort of art director or something... ; )ha!

well, i'll eat a lobstor roll for you and i'll take some pics. to share with you once i get back!

have a happy happy week!! school starts back up next thursday for us!! gulp! we are savoring every moment of the fleeting summer!

jake wanted me to show you a picture of his newly decorated room. trust me, it doesn't look like this anymore! he's a "little" messy!!!! i love the ikea bed stuff...so cute. now henry is jealous...i'll show you his room next time!

another late night...

yikes...i can never sleep! late night is when i work, but the hours start ticking away and oops...it's 2 am. now, let's fast forward to 6:30 am when little henry gets up. it ain't pretty. i just walk around in a complete exhausted fog. People claim they would never know...I always seem fine. are they just being nice?? hmmm.

so, maybe you can relate to this: i have literally a bazillion ideas for all kinds of new projects...and i'm working, working, working...yet nothing is getting done??? i have so many unfinished little goodies begging for completion! here's a peek at a few things i'm ALMOST finished with:)

i need to figure out how to insert pictures into this blog a little better?? i should have the "love of home" and "heart and soul" paintings (with matching frames...oooh ahhh!) in the shop by next week? maybe sooner. the third painting is a housewarming gift. i'm going to maine wednesday and won't be back until monday the 3rd. my son jake and i are going by ourselves (no dad and henry) to portland to see my sister, her husband and my nephew! jake (7 years old) is so excited (and so am i) for a special trip...just the 2 of us:) we will be taking a ferry, a train and a bus on our adventure. it all sounds fine except for the bus...that part isn't too long though!

etsy love...

I had to take a moment to say how much I LOVE etsy !!! While ebay is where I started and planted the seeds of my little business...I've been a little frustrated with them lately. I decided to try out etsy for selling some of my originals (I am still listing my art card collection and different originals on ebay). What an incredible group of wonderfully diverse artisans I have discovered on etsy! Check out some of my favorites here ! I'm just in total love with them all!! Don't get me started...

I finished up some little paper mache ornaments today. One was ready to put in the shop and can be found here ! The size is great for hanging anywhere in the house. I should have the others ready to show you in a day or 2. Here is the polkadot majesty now...



Lastly...we all went to the Aquarium today in Riverhead. The boys love it and always have so much fun. Especially feeding and petting the stingrays. These crazy things come flying out of the water begging like dogs for fish. It is the most bizzarre thing you'll ever see. I've seen it over and over and still amazes me everytime! Here is a little idea of what I'm talking about...



Isn't that nuts? So cool. Anyways...hope you're havin' a happy weekend! By the way...I'm positive this posting every day business is just the newness of it all. The future reality is probably more like a few posts a week :D

happy weekend to you...

hi everyone...or anyone?? i don't know who exactly will be reading this. but, i'm having fun with it! i was so excited today...because i looked on ebay pulse (which i never do) and my little "mother" art card is one of the most watched items in the ACEO category. You can find her here ! woohoo for sweet mom! i have been in a little bit of an art card rut lately....but the last couple weeks the floodgates have opened and my little ideas are coming back to life:) thanks everybody...it's always nice to know someone likes what your doing.

i'll check back in over the weekend. i did my first ever trade with another artist and hello...it was so fun and i have such a cute treasure to share with you!! stay tuned!

the beginning...

Drum roll please... I finally did it. I started my very own blog.

I'm Jenn. I am a stay at home Mom of 2 little boys...Jake and Henry. My husband, sons and I live in a teeny little house in New York. I am a self taught artist and can't remember a time when I wasn't sketching, painting, collaging or doodling! I love to create funky and whimsical paintings and collage pieces. I turned my love of creating into a little business 2 years ago when my family and I moved to New York from Florida (so weird, I know...it was due to my husbands job!) I wanted to be home with my boys and sooo... noodle and lou studio / funky art by jenn was born. Since then, I've met so many wonderful people...including talented fellow artists and the MOST supportive clients.

I would like for this to be a place where I can share what I'm working on...a place to highlight things I love...and a place for the occasional venting due to juggling a zillion things in the air at once :D

Thanks so much for visiting me! I must admit...I know NOTHING about the etiquette of blogging. SO, bare with me. I'll figure it out eventually! Let's see what happens...
