I'll be working on a couple new paintings today for my etsy shop . And, I'm so excited because my Mom gets here tonight! She will be visiting for the whole week. The boys are so excited "Mia" is coming and continue to ask me every 5 minutes if her plane is here yet!

little ms. pumpkin & dracula
Jake and I decorated our little baby pumpkins! I've never "dressed up" a white pumpkin before! Of course I had to make a Ms. Pumpkin. Being the only girl in the house, I do need a little company! I just made a paper hat, stuck some yarn on for hair and drew a little face...propped her up on an upside POLKADOT bowl...and voila! Ms. Pumpkin. We used that foam paper stuff and hot glue for Jake's! Dracula is living on our front steps. He'll scare off any tricksters! Jake did a fabulous job turning his baby pumpkin into a scary Dracula! The cape he made is so cute...oops, I mean scary;)

favorite corners of my home...
whew...it's been one of those weeks. I've been feeling kinda crummy...stressed out anda little under the weather.
I wandered (i'm using that term wandering VERY loosely...I could get from one side of the house to the other with one little hop!!) around today, admiring some of my favorite little corners of the house. I love to decorate. I love to "re-do" the top of the china cabinet a zillion times until it's just right. I love my old books and little folk art figures. I love all my polkadots everywhere:) Look at my new lampshades for my bedroom....CUTE. Seriously, they are from Pottery Barn Kids. I refuse to grow up! I love my home to be a cozy, happy place. It rained all day today and Henry & I just worked around the house...played with Batman...played Star Wars and watched Noggin! We had a pretty fun day:)

How was your weekend everyone? We had a very busy...but wonderful one! We visited some friends in New Jersey on Saturday. SUCH a fun trip!! Sunday we cleaned out the basement. What a huge job and a magical transformation! Really, I should take pictures and show you! hmmmm...maybe I will! :) Today we extended our weekend and Chris took the day off...yay! Jake went off to school and Henry, Chris and I went to Ikea! ooooh...love it! I got the cutest rug for Jake's room...another play table for the boys...a rug for the play room...lamps for Chris' office...little masks for the boys...ETC! Henry has his 1st little field trip tomorrow. We are going to a pumpkin patch! I'm sure we will be coming home with lots o' pumpkins!! Lastly, I'll leave you with my newest painting...love one another. A simple message, yet tremendously important. Spread your love this week...

one life to live...
Do you ever get bored with what you're doing? Of course you do...we all do! I had such a mental block last night and couldn't come up with a single creation! I awoke to crisp and cool weather this morning. It inspired me to work on some new aceo
cards. Miss Evie...with her winter coat and little scarf...has a beautiful message: one life to live. There's also Ms. Teacher...with her "eager to learn" students:) Also a quick sneak peek at a collection of new collage chunky canvases I'm working on. I told you I was bored! I think I just needed a wee break from painting! I recently came across a bunch of old family photos...we don't know who any of them are. We think they were friends of my grandparents...etc. I love them and am using them (the real photos!) in these collages. I love giving new life to these faces from the past...that would have otherwise been discarded! Happy weekend to you all!!xoxoxo...jenn

I'll be restocking my etsy shop in the next couple days too! I can hardly believe Halloween is almost upon us and Christmas is right around the corner!! As usual...so much to do in such little time!! :)
When I drop Henry off at his little class today, I am going to the gym! yiiiiikes. I haven't been since the beginning of summer. I'm so out of shape...none of my clothes are fitting...time to take better care of myself!!! Chris renewed my gym membership as a surprise for my birthday.... which was so sweet. He knew I didn't want to spend the money on it...but really did want to go back. I felt so much better last year when I was going regularly. It's so easy, as a mom, to put yourself on the back burner. And, it's SO wrong!! I also made a hair appt. for later this month. Wow. Now I'm gettin' serious! I'm such a "kitchen beautician"...and I had a little hair color catastrophe last weekend. Long story short...my hair is black and it is NOT a cute black!!!!!!! And let's not even discuss what grey roots are going to look like with black hair. I had a color fix consultation yesterday. I can't get it actually fixed until the 30th though! yep...I'll be the one wearing a baseball cap or huge polkadot scarf on my head all this month!!
Did I mention Chris made another delicious apple pie yesterday!? Look at this yummy thing!!

10 years...
10 years ago today...chris and I were married overlooking the St. Johns River! SO hard to believe that much time has passed...and yet it seem SO much longer! We've had some tough times. (Putting your husband through grad school while simultaneously having kids...not recommended) Some happy times. Some really funny times. Some really sad times. All these things led us to today. We are blessed with a beautiful family, 2 healthy adorable boys and the ability to still laugh...alot... together! Happy 10th Anniversary Chris! Lookin' forward to the next 10...
