just got back from listing a couple paintings in the little noodle and lou shop!

I'm finally feeling a bit like a human being again with this pesky cold. (Even though I'm still coughing up a lung!) So, tonight will be sculpting and painting some new little ladies for me!! I don't have a single thing on ebay...so I'm hoping to finish some new ACEO cards too. Key word is "hoping". Henry and I did make a fabulous trip to "Home Goods" today!! Evil, evil Home Goods with all their polka dot goodness. You know how you go to Home Goods and it's really, really good. That was today. I saw a zillion things I HAD to have. Ridiculous but true. I mostly contained myself...but did get the CUTEST red and white polka dot pillows....eeeeeeek LOVE them.

and some fun red bowls...that were ONLY $3.00!!

I mean really. How could I NOT get them??

and look what little Henry found!! The cutest puppet theatre with a little clock and chalk board. He has been entertaining me with puppet shows ever since!! Henry, by the way, was sooooo GOOD on our outing. He was the mayor of Home Goods...saying hello to everyone. Waving and smiling...pointing out things to me that he thought were "beautiful Mom!!!". So nice:):)

I even found some precious Cath Kidston notebooks!!! Love her stuff. It just felt so good to get out of the house for a bit. You know!!??

The wonderful Suz gave me the sweetest award over on her blog:) Thank you so much for my "you make my day" award!!! I think the rules are that I have to pick blogs now that make my day. How can I do that!!?? You ALL make my day!! Every single one of you in my blogroll!! Am I cheating if I say you all make my day???

I also was just tagged by the lovely Lillian to name 5 random things about me. I promise to do that on my next post. I'll leave you tonight with a photo of my "ribbon tree". I was so excited when I thought of this! I stuck my ribbon spools on my little desk tree!! I have such limited space and love that my ribbons are tidy and easily available now! Silly things like this make me happy:)

the making of a cone hat couple

Cone Hat Couple.

It all starts with a vintage text wrapped canvas...and the story begins!

A creamy sketch of the little couple. I knew I wanted them to have very tall cone hats. Because...really is there any other way to wear a cone hat!? Tall is all the rage.

They receive some rough facial features and thick outlines.

I decided they will be Valentine folk. So, of course she must wear red! Not sure about Mr. Cone Hat yet...hmmmmmmm.

uh oh...Ms. Cone Hat looks worried. Like maybe Mr. Cone Hat will not return her love. But he will!! I'll have to fix her expression...

Much better! And Mr. Cone Hat is so confident in his pink and red striped collar. I think he has a big Valentine evening planned. Ms. Cone Hat says she really doesn't care about Valentine's Day...as long as she has his heart and he has hers.

She gets a "beautiful" vintage scrap. And he gets a "handsome" vintage scrap.

Polka dots added to the background and some beautiful French text added to the sides. Hello and Happy Valentine's Day Cone Hat Couple!! I'm on my way to put them in my etsy shop:)

One last thing to share for today. I rarely make things for myself...but I had this super long piece of wood and wanted to paint a skinny house on it! I had these funky vintage sentences that I love on there! Really hard to get a good photo...but here it is:)

little cuties...

How was your weekend everyone?? We are all sick with gross colds here at the noodle and lou house. Yuck. On a happy note....Jake had an International Dance Program at his school last Friday. It was phenomenal! I literally had tears in my eyes. I can't believe all the dances they learned. They performed The Mexican Hat Dance, Irish Step Dance, Meringue ...to name just a few! It was just the cutest thing I've ever seen. Here's the ham after the dance.

Speaking of hams...look at this little ham that I found:)

so...not a super productive weekend. But we had fun layin' around watching movies and playing with clay. Jake made a super cool dragon...but I can't take a picture until we fix the legs (he says!). I made some teeny houses. Here they are waiting for paint.

pointy hats, ladies and birds

my mini shop update is complete! Here are the new treats!!

My 2 new paintings were really fun to work on. I used lotsa layers of vintage French and English text within layers of acrylic paints. I loved the whole process and am so happy with the yummy texture!! I kept the colors very neutral with raw black lines.

I also added my 2 little Valentine Girl Cones! This was something totally new for me and I loved making them! I used more vintage text (when do I not!!??) paints, ric rac, buttons and wire...topped it off with some pink shred and VOILA! The sweetest little Valentine...that you can leave out all year!

ooooh... And thank you soooo much to lorajean for mentioning me on your blog! I adore her new papier mache sculptures. you have to peek at them! look, look, look!!

yipppppppeeeeeeeee! Everything is working again! It is the PITS not being "connected"!! I'm playing a mad dash of catch up now though...so just a quick post to say hello and show you a couple things:) First is my fabulous frame by Michele at Cowboys and Custard .

I wish I'd been able to capture a better photo...it is truly so special. You know how I love houses and I adore the little vintage house block and house she used!!! Thank you so much Michele! hellllloooooo...

sorry I haven't posted in a few days...I am having serious camera and computer problems. I'm telling you...it's enough to make a girl go maaaad!!! I have so many pretty things to show you too. Like my precious frame from sweet Michele at Cowboys and Custard ...you will love it! And I want to show you my adorable heart from Suz at aah! surprise, delight & joy ...eeeek! It is so cute. And she sent me an Art Doll Magazine as a fabulous surprise. Isn't that the nicest thing!?Lots more to share and new paintings too. BUT sadly I can't upload any of them. That is just the tip of the iceberg of this crummy day I'm having. I was able to escape from reality for a couple hours (thanks to my boys for watching a movie...xoxoxox) and I worked on my new paintings. I have reeeeeaaallly enjoyed working on these and they just have a peaceful quality about them. Hopefully I can share them soon...as well as a couple new things for the shop! oh, almost forgot... I did get my February Month painting up on ebay...you can find Miss February here.

and my very first dollie for sale! I wanted to make a Valentine girl...and this funky little gal appeared. Her name is Lily Mae. Love her big red hair and vintage styled dress. She is quite prim and oh so sweet:) I made a little heart that says wish that she can hold in her lap.

I'm off to finish up my February month painting! I will put it up for auction on ebay tomorrow...as well as some new aceo cards. Thanks for stopping by tonight!!
