Look. Even the boys took a moment to sit quietly and reflect on the beauty around them. Who am I kidding...they were talking away here. A second later someone kicked someone. I won't name names. Back to tranquility...

In keeping with my theme of "I'm behind in everything"...I JUST added Mrs. May over on ebay! She is my latest addition to my Mini Month Series!! And because May is right around the corner...I put her up as a 3 day auction. That way she can be displayed for the WHOLE month of May;) I can't believe it...but June will complete 1 whole year of my mini month paintings!!!
I'm trying to get an etsy shop update put together for all you Noodlettes...I'm aiming for Friday afternoon...but I'll keep you posted for sure. I'll also start trickling in some little card sets featuring my art prints later this week too!!
I got the sweetest little Thank You package from Tascha a while back and I've never shared it with you! First of all...how sweet is she for sending me something! Second...look how fabulously ADORABLE it is!
Thank you again Tascha!!!I have to share this CD with you too. I will admit I am not the Mom that plays kid music everytime I'm in the car with my kids. They wind up listening to Luscious Jackson or Kate Bush or The Smiths or other picks of "Mom's Music"! But I had to buy this kid CD "Peggy's Pie Parlor" because look at the illustrations:):):)
Giselle Potter!! And will buy anything with her illustrations on it:)
Off to work some more!!!! Hope your week is off to a great start:):)
- Heat oven to 350'F. Line 8x8 inch baking pan with foil. Place apricots in a blender with 1/4 cup boiling water, cover, and let sit while making batter.
- In a bowl, combine flour, wheat germ, baking soda, cinnamon and salt. Set aside. In mixer bowl, beat butter and sugars until light and fluffy...about 3 minutes. Beat in egg and vanilla. Add sweet potato, and beat until well combined. With mixer on low speed, beat in flour mixture. Stir in oats. Divide batter into thirds. Press 2/3 of batter into lined pan.
- Puree apricots in blender, and spread over batter. Divide remaining batter into clumps, and sprinkle over apricots. Bake 35 minutes.
I have to share these adorable drawings Henry did today in the driveway! Gotta love sidewalk chalk. Or as he calls it..."side chalk".
Hope you are all enjoying a real live SPRING weekend like we are! The weather is getting up to 65 today...and I consider that a miracle! It's been a tough week. The boys have felt crummy. I've been really under the weather...feeling super tired and just worn out. I'm going to go sit on my front steps and think about planting flowers again...
And then maybe stealing a little time to myself later to catch up on some work. I did complete these 2 little paintings the other day...I'm thinking of making some cards out of them...hmmmm?
My son's elementary school is celebrating the past 50 years with different bulletin boards featuring events/fads from the 6 different decades. So...I signed up to do a few and maybe you can help me:) I want to do an 80's fashion board...because, hello. I love the 80's!!! So I'm thinking neon, swatch watches, leggings and big blazers, big hair, Esprit, Guess, parachute pants..etc! I could scan fashion ads out of my 80's magazines and use that as a border? Any ideas for me?? I wanted to do music but a couple people beat me to it. I love 80's music...how was that soooo long ago?? I also signed up to do a Star Wars board for the 70's as a special treat for Jake:) So all you clever noodlettes out there put your thinking caps on and share your fabulous ideas with me;) If I use any of your ideas I'll send you a little treat!! Oh NO...I just heard thunder and it's getting cloudy! I'm running to catch that sun!!!!! p.s. it is pouring and lightning now. not kidding. sniff, sniff.
Happy Spring everyone!!
