the joys of being 5...

...and by the looks of Henry's face all day, there are MANY joys to being 5:) he had a wonderfully perfect day. pizza, presents, playing and chocolate cake!

such a fun day watching him be so happy and growing up right before our eyes:) since we were on vacation, I hadn't planned a party with his friends yet...so that will come in a couple weeks. our day did include a visit to the pet store to pick out his very own fishy. long story short we are already on fishy #2. ahem. side note: if the salesperson at Petco says "just make sure to pick one out that's moving around a lot...we've been having trouble with our vendor". don't buy the fish. the fish will be dead within hours. lovely. all is good now...we have fishy's "brother" living with us. His name is also fishy. And his last name is dog. perfect:)

Bonjour Jenn! Oh, we went through many fishies too over the year but now only keep them in the big natural fish tank outside, the pond. When I was around 5 years old, I caught a mennow in the stream and believe it or not, we kept it for 3 years in a fish bowl! 5 years old sons grow up too quickly, better watch him goo while it lasts! Take care, LuLu

LOL! What a great post! I cannot believe the fish story-oh my! Once a friend of mine had a fish named after our landlord, "Bill Bone" true story. Poor Bill had a hard life. He often went days or weeks even, without food. Drove me crazy that I was always asking "did you feed the fish today?" "OMG, I haven't fed Bill Bone since Sunday! Thanks for the reminder.." this was usually our conversation upon every get together. The point is, fish are pretty resilient. Bill Bone made it almost three years..so that is something.

Happy belated birthday to Henry!! Being 5 is the best, I think:)

I just had a conversation (argument) with my husband about the amount of gifts we give the boys for birthdays...looks like you have the same piles of loot!

Good luck with fish #2. We gave up on fish a long, long time ago.
