new paintings...

somehow, in the midst of the craziness that is called my life, I finished a few new paintings. I'll be listing these 2 in the shop later today (Friday, March 27) at 5:00 p.m. EST (new york time). sorry, no holds....but I will be offering prints of them both:)

and for fun, I'll show you a scribble sketch I did of this little couple before I started painting them. I've mentioned before how I usually don't sketch a painting before I paint...but when I do...this is what it looks like.
and here they are all painted up. I kind of love the sketch!

happy Friday everyone! oh and thank you to everyone that adopted my ladies in hats!! I didn't forget about the lulettes update:) I'll probably do it on Sunday. I'll let you know for sure tomorrow. I have boys on Spring Break to entertain:):)

ladies in hats mini update

march 25, 2009
wednesday
7:00 p.m. EST
(new york time)

I tried to get some better photos...(it's been overcast all day and will be all week) but here are the ladies in hats! There are a total of 6 little ladies. (there is a 7th that has a little "boo boo" on her back...I may stick her in the shop at a discounted price...not sure.) Big xoxox to all your sweet comments on them in my last post. I appreciate you all so very much!! I'll have another update with the rest of my Spring inspired goodies by the weekend. Stay tuned:):)

p.s. there is still time to enter in my Artist Spotlight giveaway for a Lulette heart ring and any noodle and lou print of your choice...click HERE to visit!!

how 'bout some ladies in hats

we made friends with men in hats...
wasn't it about time for some ladies in hats?
and what better time for a fabulous hat than Spring time?
When we were little girls, my sister and I would get
a new Easter hat each year. I love hats. I love a lady
in a big, glorious hat. It just screams confidence!!
And don't even get me started on some fab vintage hats from
the 20's!!! swoon. Love 'em.

These little gals are still in progress.
I think the yellow hat lady will get a big lace bow around her
hat. They all need a bit more paint and a coat of glaze and
of course I need the "just right" funky text for their
busts. wanna see a snippet of my prized possession little
vintage book?

I have other old French school books, but this one is the best.
I don't know what I'll do once I've torn every word out of it!
Love scouring through this book.

So, I'm off to enjoy the sunshine today!
Just wanted to show you that I AM working on a much
needed SPRING update for later this week.
I'll have a few Easter inspired goodies, women in hats and
some Spring lulette houses. More details soon!

I'll leave you with these wee lulettes that are headed
off to Sweeden. I would LOVE to visit Sweeden. If only
I could fold myself up and sneak inside the box!!

Happy Sunday!

my darlin' clementine

we've been eating these like crazy lately! such a cute little ball of yumminess. and such a "spring-ey" thing to eat...nothing like sitting outside, enjoying the sunshine while you peel and eat a little clementine. you want a clementine now, don't you?

I want to say THANK YOU to all of you that have visited my interview over at Raven's blog! If you haven't taken a peek yet, swing by HERE and enter in my giveaway!! You have through March 29th.

things have been busy around here...seems we are all a little behind schedule so to speak. especially due to our little flood and then the weather has been SO nice that I've spent a ton of time sitting at the park with my boys. Which is such a treat. Warm, sunny days! (it was back to chilly rain today...but I don't even care!) I had to take advantage of them and turn this black hole of a computer off and enjoy some outside time:) My nights have been spent busily working on finishing some Halloween pieces for the National Halloween Haunters Convention coming up in April. If you are in the Philadelphia area...come on by and visit the Spooky Time Jingles booth and say hi to Dani! Hooray!! She has been working so hard at all the details...thanks Dani!

and speaking of "haunters"...Henry is quite the ghost story teller! We were roasting marshmallows and making smores the other night and this little guy was telling the most dramatic and spooky stories. Oh my gosh, he is such a character...so cute. Jake was unimpressed by the ghost stories (even my fake girl scout camp/wood monster adventure didn't work very well..what!?!!)...but he loved the fire and was trying so hard to make a torch. That's super safe...right? *wink wink*

Happy Thursday friends!!

happy st. patrick's day!

my little Irish girl
is wishing you all a
happy st. patrick's day!

This little redhead was an ACEO of mine
that went to live with sweet Lillian
back in early 2007!
I've had a few of you ask when I'll be making more
ACEO cards. (which stands for Art Cards, Editions and Originals
and is small format art with one rule...it has to be the size
of a playing card!) I used to make a few every week and I really
do miss making them! There is something about that size that I
really just love! Maybe soon:):)

anyhooo...this gal was quite appropriate to help celebrate
today. Now, where's my pint of Guinness?

happy spots...

a few little happy spots in the noodle and lou home...

we are drying out...yes, we have multiple dehumidifiers, lots o' fans and lots of things still to clean and go through:) Ignoring all that right now and looking at those Spring-ey happy spots.

have I showed you my little vintage meat markers before? I LOVE these funny little guys. I saw these years ago in a Home Companion magazine in an artist feature. Well, a few months ago, as I was perusing through a wonderful antiques place... there they were! Aren't they FUN!?

Still very cold here, but the boys were off school Thursday and Friday...so we headed off to the park with some friends. 25 degrees...but the sun was shining and it felt great! What happy spots are you enjoying this week?

xoxox...jenn

p.s. Spooky Time Jingles update tonight!!
here are my little offerings...

aceo mosaic

playin' around with fd's flickr toys
(this is a sampling of my 2007 ACEO collection)
and avoiding the piles of stuff everywhere I look in my house:)

we are having tons more rain...so not looking too
good on the whole "drying out" thing.
it could be SO much worse though.
so yay for that!
so...furniture, beds, toys galore, books and more...have
a new home wherever they can squeeze. we eeked out a space
for the boys to sleep upstairs. Poor Henry thinks we are moving
again and keeps asking when the men are coming.
(meaning the movers)
little peanut.

happy Wednesday to you guys!!!

signs of spring...some good, some bad

yes, some teeny signs of Spring are showing up in our yard! and let me tell you how excited we are to see them!! well, I was excited and then the pouring rain started on Saturday and kept on through today and as the boys were going to bed, Jake said "why are my socks all wet?".

The lower level of our house flooded. We spent the next couple hours schlepping all the furniture and tons of toys out of there. I'm a freak about mold...so I'm trying not to completely flip out. ugh. Fun night, huh? I hope my sweet little bulb, sprouting out of the dead leaves didn't float away...

well, here's to a DRY Monday!!!

xox...jenn

keep looking up...

okay...the gorgeous weather is gone!
my beautiful warm sun has been replaced with chilly pouring rain. so sad...but at least we had yesterday. the sun felt soooo good!! so, I'll just keep looking up...waiting for my sweet sun to return once more. How do you like that segue into my new painting?
"they remembered to keep looking up"

acrylics over vintage text on a re-purposed wooden plaque. the piece measures 20 inches long, 6 inches wide and 1/2 inch thick. i love these long skinny pieces to hang over a door or a bed!

and this 8x10 re-worked canvas. Just a silly little house with a wonky roof sitting on top of a hill:) "une belle maison"
both of these are headed over to the shop right now!

ooooh and for that good news I mentioned!?

Chrissie Grace is writing a new book about swaps and collaborations and I am participating with 12 other SUPER AMAZING artists!! I am so excited about this!!! go peek at Chrissie's blog for more details and to see who else is participating:) noodle and lou studio in a book!! I'm so tickled! Thanks Chrissie!!

Chrissie has already published these books... "Wild Tiles" and "Tiles Gone Wild"
check 'em out!

okay...this is the 2nd time I've written this post, because I accidentally deleted it the first time. (so depressing!!) I'm off to my etsy and then off to enjoy the rest of my weekend. Even if it is raining:)

xoxox...jenn

friday

just wishing you all a fun filled FRIDAY!
hooray for the weekend and
HOO-RAY for some warmer weather.
The boys and I played forever outside today.
there was sun and NO winter coats...
we WALKED home from school!
such a huge treat.

I have a few things to put in the shop this weekend.
Just a couple of paintings...and new prints
(this little dress will be a new print, the original was for a sweet friend).
some exciting news about some upcoming projects too!
but for now...go ENJOY
your Friday!!

rainbow interview...

go one, go ALL
straight over to the lovely Shelagh's
blog to see my "rainbow interview"!
I think this is the best idea for an interview.
Shelagh is not only clever like that (and a prolific maracas player in the world's best imaginary band!), but she is a beautifully talented artist. Check out her art and her other rainbow interviews while you are there:)
thanks so much Shelagh!!
