...catastrophe strikes. in the form of a kidney stone. ugh!!! very late wednesday night, i started to get a sharp pain in my lower back. i knew right away it was my kidney. my husband was out of town for the week, i was alone with the kids...i have no family in town...i was freaking out. i've had a kidney stone "episode" about 6 years ago. i've never felt pain that bad before. that time ended with surgery to remove the stone and it was a nightmare (to say the least). this time i knew what was happening, so i just tried my best to meditate, to calm down and get through the pain...but the pain was winning. i started to pass out and get sick and i was afraid for my kids, so i knew i had to call 911. through all that terrible pain and blacking out and paramedics and police all over my bedroom, all i could think about was my poor boys seeing me like this. they were SO brave and helpful. the police were able to take them to a friend's house...thank God for her!!!!! she took such great care of my boys. thankfully, i was finally put out of my misery and put in to narcotic la la land at the hospital. the stupid stone passed into my bladder (hope you aren't eating right now!!!!) and the pain finally stopped. i'll spare you from the rest of the details...but the stone is now out and I'm SO happy. SOOOO happy. my husband got a phone call from the police and caught a flight home that morning...but not before i was released from the hospital. here comes the hilarious part. i had to take a cab home at 7:30 am. no shoes. short pajama shorts, hair everywhere, sick stink all over me (appetite gone yet!?). ohmylord. check please.
