today for vintage tuesday...a 5 second makeover on an old ugly shelf! i found this little guy at an antique mall. he's decoupaged with magazine cutouts. ugh. not to offend anyone who loves the style...just totally not mine!

so, you may see something like this in your travels and think...oh no. too much work. i'll have to sand all those magazine pictures off and re-paint the whole thing. NOT TRUE! you literally need some glue, a brush, some old book pages (i like them yellowing and crispy), and a few minutes!
rip the whole page out, slap some glue on the shelf and stick into place! yep. that easy. use the straight edge of the book page in the corners and along the sides for precision. if you want to get all fancy, you can cut the pages into smaller squares or strips and take more time to make a pattern. brush some more glue on the top of the page and voila! you are SO done.
no signs of the magazine cutouts...just some vintage book page goodness to use as a backdrop for your goodies!
what can you discover to makeover?
have fun! xoxo...jenn

Oh my goodness. I really have been trying to go into the 2nd hand stores lately with an open view when looking at trash & figuring out if I can make it into a treasure. You just re-inspired me. Jenn where did you get those cute little men on the shelf?
