and let me tell ya...they don't mirror my mood at all! this cold weather is so getting me down. blah. yuck. brrrrrrr. it's just no fun when it's this cold. at least when it's in the 20's/30's, and there is snow, we can sled and play outside. this stuff is the pits. okay...okay...that concludes my pity party;) but seriously. brrrrrrrrr!!!! it does make for good cleaning days...i got the whole pantry and fridge and kids' school paper mountain pile cleaned out today.

vintage tuesday

i introduce you to my latest project...

the noodle and lou doll house!

i am sooooo stinkin' excited, i can barely

stand it!!!! i've been wanting an OLD doll house

forever. my pop pop made me one when i was

a little girl and i can remember playing

with that fabulous house for hours and hours.

days and days. years and years.

so many fond memories!!

sadly, that one isn't around anymore...

and this is not even close to a replacement...

but it's all mine all mine!! yipppeee!!!

those of you who know me well,

know that i love a good ol' fixer upper.

i will always prefer something old and chippy

and rusty over something brand new.

and ummmm...this house sure fits the bill.

dirty city.

and an absolute fixer-upper.

i accidentally vaccuumed up several layers

of dirt before i thought to take "before" pics!

it's so freaking perfectly vintage.

it's wood. it's handmade.

j'adore!!!

and the best part? jake found this for me

while we were at an estate sale this past

weekend. he came running downstairs

and said "mom, mom there is something you

are TOTALLY going to want upstairs"

i still have my childhood furniture and

dolls that will inhabit this happy house.

so stay tuned for the magical transformation.

craft hope for haiti...

thinking of and praying for all the survivors and rescue/medical workers in haiti. in times of such HUGE crisis, it seems overwhelming in where to even begin to help. but i do believe we CAN all help. speaking for myself...my little family struggles, alot, with financial issues. (throw in an extra prayer my husband can find a permanent job one day soon!!!) even though i can not afford to donate money...i can certainly donate my time and my art. craft hope has made it super easy for us crafty folks.

the craft hope for haiti etsy shop is now open and has...and will continue to have...lots of wonderful items for sale. all donated by caring crafters with 100% of the proceeds going directly to doctors without borders. i'm working on some mounted prints that will be in their shop soon. thanks to all of you that can help out by shopping or donating! i'm so proud to be a part of this sweet community of giving!!

and speaking of good girls...

i am going to try very hard to be a good girl myself and get back to WORK:) my etsy shop is not the only thing neglected and empty....my poor bank account is too;) ugh. oh well, that's the glamorous life of a wife of a post-doc! anyhoooo...i have so many valentine treats to finish and all sorts of fun ideas swirling around in my head...but i think i took too much time off! it's hard to get back in the swing of things. sheesh;) i did take lots and lots of photos of vintage goodies for the vintage shop today! sneak peeks coming VERY soon. like maybe later tonight.

also thinking of some CHANGES and GOALS for 2010. i'm working on a fresh new look for the blog. i'm thinking of ways to grow my little business. i need to do some re-structuring...figuring out how to make the most of my time and my money. new ideas swirling around in my head. stuff like that.

oops...blah, blah, blah...i was supposed to be heading over to etsy to list my good girl! doing that now:)

i want to keep letting the boys stay up

late. i want to keep sleeping in. i don't

want my husband to have to go back to

work. i guess, basically, i just want our

winter break to never end!

it's been so much fun.

christmas. sledding.

playing board games with the boys.

battling each other on wii resort.

watching movies.

seeing my aunt and cousins.

playing in the city. new years. lots

and lots of fun. a super fabulous break:)

but...

it's time to ease back in to reality:)

time to get back to work.
