snowmen and skeleton pirates

tomorrow is halloweeeEEEEEEeen!!
the boys are SO super excited. yahooo!
and since i pretty much skipped over my most
favorite holiday halloween (i say christmas is my
most favorite holiday when it comes around too
you know)...i painted a snowman yesterday.

yep. happy halloween.
here's a snowman:)

well, the weather IS turning chilly here just a
bit. it's actually quite lovely. but after living in
chicago, we sure get a giggle over the people
running around in parkas when it's 50 degrees
outside:) come on! that's tee shirt weather folks!
hahaaa!

henry had a fun filled day on friday...halloween
parade and class party. TONS of candy (ohmygosh!)
and lots of fun. much to my crafting dismay he wanted
to be the pirate skeleton AGAIN. 3 years in a row you
guys. crack me up!! at least we mixed it up and put the
captain jack hat and jacket with it this year:) there is a
spooky skeleton mask that he'll wear with it tomorrow
night. henry knows what he wants buddy!

jake is going to be a cowboy. poor thing had no
halloween celebrations at school. just some halloween
math. giggle. i told him he's practically in college.
no more fun and games;)

have a spooky spectacular safe halloween everyone!

vintage tuesday

an incredibly darling customer purchased a bunch of vintage drawers from me awhile back. i was so thrilled to hear what she would be doing with these old drawers from the 20's. using them as wedding table centerpieces. swoon! that's my kind of wedding, folks! she was so lovely as to send me some shots from the wedding day...thank you annie! take a peek...

don't you just LOVE!? and such a perfect balance between feminine and masculine. definitely appeals to the bride and groom! this is just the kind of thing that gets me all giddy! hooray for vintage drawers! i mean, to this day, my fabulous old farmhouse drawers remain one of my most favorite finds ever. ever.

they are almost all gone...but i'll always have the super cool cabinet they came in. and i do love it so. all painted up in shabby turquoise and placed atop a little side table (painted to match).

so, what kind of things can you use vintage drawers for? you and your guests will adore them as table centerpieces. they make for excellent storage and look awfully fabulous placed around the house filled with flowers or ......? here are some great options for sale...

i still have a few left of the one's pictured in the wedding!

a new day...

happy sunday friends!

first off let me extend oodles of THANKS to all of you that have sent me such sweet notes and comments about my granna and for all of you that have been keeping my family in your thoughts and prayers! i couldn't ask for better pals...thank you. my granna's funeral was the most lovely service i have ever attended. truly! my granna was so beautiful on the outside, with her elegant and timeless style, but even more so on the inside. she was super involved in her community and church and was such a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend. she always had a smile on her face and i can't remember a single time that i ever saw her lose her temper or say a cross word. she was the peacemaker of the family... always remembering the bright side of things. she adored to travel all over with my grandaddy. she had a love and appreciation for antiques and vintage treats and had such a knack for decorating. AND she was the most incredible baker and always had cookies ready for you upon entering her kitchen. i'm so happy that my own boys were able to know her and especially happy that we were able to spend time with her just a few short days before her passing. we will miss you granna, but know that we will see you one day again and that we have a beautiful angel looking after us!
