vintage tuesday and christmas part II

how was your Christmas!?
ours was just wonderful...the boys had a blast!
we have much to be thankful for this holiday.
seems like our lives have been a whirlwind
since the move...but here we are all together.
celebrating this beautiful time of year!

a few photos to share with you for vintage
tuesday! and a few more to finish up the
"noodle and lou christmas" house peeks:)

one of my most fave little trees was one i had
in the kitchen. it was full of only vintage ornaments
and vintage candle holders from my granna.

such a sweet treat. my granna always had the
most fabulously decorated trees every Christmas.

of course i had vintage Christmas bits all over
the house. old chalkware statues got red and white
bows for the holiday...

vintage santas mixed with new santas and
snowmen...

little christmas trees sprinkled through the
house (you can't just have ONE!). this one
with lots of my childhood ornaments. my
nana would give us an ornament every year.
i love the little knit ones...like the tiny box at
the bottom. they would have a couple dollars
stuck in there. it would be so exciting!

well, i think i'm just about ready to put away
the decorations. tuck them away until next
year when i can greet them again.

though henry said he would like to leave his
tree up all year:) we'll see...

noodle and lou christmas...part I

well, school is OUT and we are in full on vacation mode! how nice is it to NOT have to wake up at 6:00 am? super duper nice. super. the boys got home from school last friday and were literally jumping up and down. hoooOray for Christmas break!

as for me...i shipped my last "work" package today! all the family (out of towners) gifts were shipped off friday. what a ReLieF! i feel a huge weight off my shoulders. big! so, now that i have some time, i've been finishing up my Christmas decorating. i sure do love getting all my decorations out. bins and bins of treats:) and i'm happy to share some pictures with ya'll! (click on photos to see them BIG)

i changed up the mantle to house only Christmas treats. i hung an ancient, chippy frame with a little folk art angel in the middle. filled some of my glass cloches with vintage glass mercury balls. can you ever have enough glass cloches or vintage ornaments? i can't!

the stockings are hung! and over a real fireplace! it's been awhile since we've had one.

here are a few close up peeks of our tree...a mix of my childhood ornaments, collected vintage ornaments, handmade treats from the boys and new ornaments collected each season!

and on top of the mantle is a smaller tree, filled with only vintage ornaments. fabulous glass balls and darling little chenille and wood people. a vintage polka dot angel adorns the top.

hope you enjoyed! we are getting awfully excited for Christmas around here...and definitely loving our time off together! noodle and lou christmas part II coming soon! peeks of my other trees and more...

team-up thursday

d e c e m b e r

(click on the photo to see it BIG!)

our lovely team up leaders, melody and megan, are running a fabulous contest featuring december themed diptychs. december 9-15. so carissa and i decided to run with it!

i guess we could have done a different theme for this week (the gals did "words") and then done an extra "december" one!? oops! and i just noticed that it's week 45 of team-up thursdays! wow! we've missed a few weeks here and there...but i'll tell you what. it's been 45 weeks of awesome fun with my sweet partner.

and i sure am enjoying that rejoice shot carissa! that glowing cluster of lights in the background! it's just beckoning me to your living room to lounge on your couch, gaze at your tree and visit with ya!

okay december! i'm off to tackle your 9th day!
hope you all enjoy yours! xox...jenn

vintage tuesday

how about some vintage christmas treats for vintage tuesday...

there's nothing better in my opinion!
sweet little chenille ornaments, weathered mercury glass balls, loads of glitter, precious nativity scenes...
hooray for a vintage Christmas! xox...jenn

merry...

good afternoon!
just a quick note to let you know this new original painting is headed to the shop right now.

"merry"
8x10 inch canvas

see you tomorrow! xoxo...jenn

tiny vintage snowmen

full speed ahead.
the noodle and lou christmas workshop is in full swing!
i'm making lots and lots of things. all at once. it's a little nuts! i'll tell you this...lots of things will be hitting the shop next week. lots!

and a little surprise for today...
some tiny snowmen wooden lulettes!
these vintage wooden figures were so darn cute. their poor little faces were long gone...scratched off from years of play i'm guessing. i spiffed them up noodle and lou style... and now they have some fresh painted faces and little vintage numbers and arms made from vintage chenille.

you can stand them up as is. or take out their arms and tie a string through the holes and hang on your tree. tie them to a package, as i did below, as an extra special gift topper.

hooray! these guys are heading to the shop in just a few minutes.
wishing you all a happy saturday! xox....jenn

a tale of two moustaches

i was mentioning before how much FUN we had when our friends from chicago came to visit. henry's best little pal wanted only one thing when he came to texas. a moustache. he wanted to go to 'cowboy town' and get a moustache. and thank you fort worth...you came through...we found moustaches baby!

is there anything cuter on earth!? oh. my. gosh.
i love these 2 cowboys together! eat your heart out tom selleck! moustaches never looked so good!

cowboys sure are cool.

looking for moustaches led to finding the perfect cowboy hat...

and of course hours and hours of cowboy play.

we love our friends! moustaches and all!
so happy they came to cowboy town for all the fun!
