it's raining in my neck of the woods...april showers trying to get a
little head start i think!  my mom is in town and we have a little
junking adventure planned...gotta get those boots and rain coats
out!

what sort of things do you enjoy on a rainy day?  curling up
with a good book?  staying in bed with the covers over your
 head?  doing a little bit of online shopping (vintage of course!)?
 how about throwing your galoshes on and jumping in a few
puddles?

tiny update about the update...

the little shop update is still tonight...9:00 p.m EST.  i've had a lot more going on these past few days than i expected...i wasn't able to finish everything, but there will definitely be the 2 sets of spring houses and at least 1 wall girlie:)  more to come soon for sure!  have a super fabulous day everyone!!!  xox...jenn

full steam ahead

so long spring break!
monday morning....
we aren't quite ready for you.
we are all wishing we were still in bed snoozing away.
waking up whenever we feel like it.
playing all day without a care in the world.

for one of us...mr. henry...the spring break continues.

sick in bed this morning!  no school for him.  jake was so jealous. 

he was actually sick DURING spring break.  how unfair!  

thankfully it's nothing bad.  just a yucky cough/cold thing that 

keeps going around their schools.  (come on vitamins!  work already!)

so, while this cowboy gets a 1 day reprieve...
the rest of us are full steam ahead!  i have tons and i mean TONS of
new vintage things to list...and a whole bunch of lulettes to finish up
for an update this week!   (FINALLY some new art to share!)...

all smiles

that little lou of mine is all smiles. 

he will stop in his tracks and smile for the camera any minute of the day.  so sweet!  and i sure love his smile.  you can't help but be happy when you see that smile:) 

he got all a's and 1 b on his report card and got a treat from mia and pappy in the mail!  smile!

we visited his school last night for open house...he was so proud!  smile!

even waiting in the car (forever!) for big brother jake to get out of school.  with my sunglasses on...smile!

sure miss jake smiling for the camera...but he used to be the same way when he was henry's age.  i'm thinking henry will stay like this though.  i'm hoping!   i know one thing...when i pick my boys up from school today, they are BOTH going to be all smiles.  it will officially be SPRING BREAK!  woohoooo!!  grandma and grandpa are visiting us and we are going to have lots of fun!

i DO have new art in the works...i really do!  i was just so busy with commissions and some other projects...my poor little etsy shop hasn't had anything new in way too long.  i actually have some lulettes houses and wall girlies in the works.  i will keep you posted here on the blog as to when they will be listed.

weekend happenings

i have a tiny little collection of paintings hanging over at the buon giorno coffee house in fort worth for any of you locals!  they will be there for the month of march.  what a cute place and they truly have the best coffee!  i was so giggling when i put the paintings up.  it's a big wall and my paintings take up an inch of it;)  but still a thrill to be a little (tiny) part of the local scene:) 

they have a collection of vintage letters spelling "wake up and smell the coffee".  ca-ute!  and so after my own heart!

we had a lovely weekend here...chilly though!  this texas weather is crazy!  we had the air conditioning on friday and the heat on saturday!  i was vetoed on going to canton:(  the troops didn't want to make the haul in the cold.  that's okay...i'll get over there soon enough:)  instead we went exploring and came across the cutest little town called weatherford.

we had the yummiest meal at the Downtown Cafe.  ohmygosh...so good.  we will be going back for sure.  seriously the best peanut butter i have ever eaten!!!

there were tons of antique places and we had fun looking for a few treasures.  the best treasure was this room...look at this place! to die for!!!

look at my goofy boys!  we were all ready to move in.  it was the upstairs of one of the antique places.  (wish i could remember the name).   really fun.

team up thursday

everyday beauty...

the simple and sweet things that you see on a daily basis and maybe take for granted.  there sure can be beauty in everything!  what a great theme for team-up thursday.  made me slow down and appreciate and enjoy.  

my awesome partner and i had the same idea and i adore our pics together!!  one of my favorites so far.  there is also a little serendipity in there too because i bought that vintage glove mold from carissa a couple years back.  i didn't even think of it when i snapped the photo.  i think that is so fun:)  so, my photo has all sorts of everyday beauty...treasures from friends, my nana's old rosary, my granna's little perfume bottle...they are with me every morning.  and carissa's darling hand mirror fits right in.  what a perfect pair!  

take a minute or two or three or fifty...

enjoy those little bits of everyday beauty all around you!  

next week is "upside down".  oh boy...fun!

how was your weekend? ours was good...finally got out of this house! the flu has left the building...whew! ba-bye. henry returned to school yesterday after missing a full week. he was all tears too. poor guy. wants to stay home forever. my heart was aching all day, thinking of his sweet little tear stained face when i forced him to go through the school doors. that's a tough one!

thinking about home for vintage tuesday today. all the things we collect and how much they make our house a cozy home. we love to head out on a weekend and search for vintage treasures. chris loves the old bikes and radios (we have reached our capacity on those though!:)) and records, the boys love old army men, pins and games and i love...everything else;)

here are a few of the things i enjoy finding...all photos were taken with the tilt shift generator app on my phone. (dead batteries in the camera)...

rusty and crusty metal anything...love it!!

aqua melmac...so sweet displayed in my old medicine cabinet turned "china" cabinet.

obsessed with old children's chairs. i totally adore them to bits. chris would say we've 'reached our capacity' on those too:)

vintage globes are so fun and really fabulous looking displayed together. this is jake's collection in his room...

ditto for old pennants...(jake's room again)

i have a deep love for old books. especially children's books. swoon. their sweet little illustrations and pretty fonts.

rusty metal boxes...little, big and every size in between! they make for extra special decor in any room!

vintage cameras...

vinyl. lots of it. and yes we play them all! love the sound of a record!

old pieces of architectural salvage and letters are another favorite of mine...
