i’ll teach you how to sculpt a clay sacred heart from polymer clay and make an embossed tin frame for your very own nicho! a nicho is a form of mexican folk art and uses a shadowbox to display a cherished item or memory. i have taught this class several times in the last few years (since 2019) and it’s always been a crowd favorite. you will be so delighted with your finished piece! a portion of polymer clay, rolled out, conditioned and ready to use
wood shadow box measuring about 5 × 3 × 3/4”
tin piece pre-cut to use as your frame. it measures taller than your wood box.
scrap tin for practicing your embossing.
a sacred heart silver milagro charm.
a pencil that i use as an embossing tool
a black acrylic paint marker (i’ll show you how to age and patina your tin)
a styrofoam pad
sheet of my original patterns to use for embossing
written directions and a photo of the example
a saw tooth hanger

you will only need to add:
acrylic craft paint with a couple paintbrushes. on the sample i used ochre on the box and red, orange and yellow for the heart. i also like brown for antiquing the colors with a dry brush
a hot glue gun or super glue
